EVERY DAY, A NEW CHAPTER

Your day-by-day itinerary.

A sample route to shape with your operator. The final programme confirms accommodation, meals, activities and transfers.

01
DAY 1

Welcome to Arusha

Meet your driver at the agreed arrival point and transfer to your Arusha accommodation. Settle in before a safari briefing covering the route, luggage, meals and daily pace. If your arrival time allows, enjoy a short orientation around town. Overnight in Arusha; accommodation and meals follow your quotation.

02
DAY 2

Arusha National Park and Miriakamba

Transfer to Arusha National Park and complete the mountain registration arrangements before beginning the guided ascent to Miriakamba Hut. Follow your authorised mountain team and any required park escort throughout the route. Enjoy the changing scenery without approaching wildlife. Arrive at the hut and settle in; permits, huts and escort arrangements are confirmed in the quote.

03
DAY 3

Climb to Saddle Hut

Continue towards Saddle Hut at a slow pace suited to the group, with time for refreshments and trail breaks. If appropriate, the guide may suggest an additional acclimatisation walk before the evening rest. Organise your warm summit clothing and review the next stage. Your wellbeing and current trail conditions determine the final schedule.

04
DAY 4

A day to acclimatise on Meru

Remain in the Saddle Hut area for a deliberately paced acclimatisation day. Follow the guide on the excursion selected for the group, then return for meals, hydration and rest. Use the afternoon to review equipment and the summit plan. This additional day can be adjusted if local conditions or the team’s health assessment require changes.

05
DAY 5

Meru summit attempt and descent

Follow your guide on the proposed summit attempt, using the timing and turnaround rules set by the mountain team. Only continue where your guide considers the conditions and group health suitable. Descend to the scheduled lower hut afterwards and rest. The route and overnight stop may change; a summit is an objective rather than a guarantee.

06
DAY 6

Park descent and Arusha return

Descend through Arusha National Park with your mountain team and complete the exit arrangements. Meet your transfer back to Arusha for a comfortable end to the climb. Allow time for lunch and recovery before any onward journey. Accommodation after the trek and airport transfers are included only when expressly listed in the quotation.

BEFORE THE JOURNEY

Make the plan your own.

Private departure dates on request; availability must be confirmed.

Tell the operator your dates, group size, accommodation preferences and any accessibility or dietary needs. They will check the route, services and availability before providing a written quotation.

Discuss acclimatisation, guide support, equipment, medical suitability and emergency arrangements. Your guide may alter or stop the programme for safety. A summit is not guaranteed.

An enquiry creates a travel request; it does not reserve space or confirm a booking.
